Anthropic is turning AI education into a new way of bringing users into its ecosystem with the launch of Claude Academy, a free online platform built around practical training rather than technical documentation alone.
Summary:
Anthropic has launched Claude Academy, a free learning hub for AI users
The platform offers roughly 20 courses and case studies across six skill levels
Advanced tracks cover APIs, MCP, Claude Code and AI agents, while separate programs target businesses
The service divides its materials into six levels, allowing newcomers to start with fundamental concepts behind generative models before moving toward more specialized applications. Users can register an account, track completed lessons and continue their studies later.
A substantial part of the curriculum focuses on Anthropic's own products. Students can find dedicated material for Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Claude Tag and Claude Platform, while a separate AI Fluency track addresses responsible use, model capabilities and deciding where AI can be applied effectively.
Developers have access to a more technical side of the platform. The available material covers the Anthropic API, Claude Console and Model Context Protocol (MCP), along with guidance on incorporating Anthropic tools into existing applications and creating AI agents.
Anthropic has also prepared training specifically for organizations. Enterprise-oriented programs include Claude Code in Action, Claude 101 and Introduction to Claude Cowork.
The platform is available in multiple languages and does not charge for access to its educational materials.
For Anthropic, the project serves two purposes at once. It gives inexperienced users a structured entry point into generative AI while familiarizing more advanced developers and businesses with the company's growing software ecosystem.
